of life full of our fears and qualms
and glorious bittersweet moments
some speak of twinges and stabs
scars held deep within furrows
on the cheeksome painfully stuck in a corner of the heart
yet because the photographer says, “Cheese”
all we see in the picture is a smile
and not the letter signed with tears
